Wine production in Chubut continues to win awards. This raises the quality of wine-producing enterprises in the Andean region. The Ayestaran Allard Winery El Hoyo received silver medals for the Oriundo Merlot product and Oriundo White Collection trivarietal wine at the 3rd edition USA Wine Ratings held in San Francisco.
These wines were born and raised in El Hoyo, the valley that is home to the vineyards on the Currumahuida hills. Cold zone Merlot is distinguished by its red fruit aromas and natural acidity. Its structure and natural acidity make it possible to pair with the most diverse pairings.
Oscar Ayestaran stated that the awards are a source of pride and have placed us in a unique position as both a product, and as a region. We will open our showroom and winery to visitors in January. There will also be an interpretive trail with wine tasting.
Ayestaran notes that the vineyards are over 15 years old. “Today, it is not just El Hoyo. There are undertakings in Sarmiento and Los Altares. Gaiman, Trevelin. There is an interesting diversity. You can do very important tasks. This industry is responsible for the employment of more than 300,000 people in Argentina. It is an industry that includes glass, accessories and metalworking.
Leandro Cavaco, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Industry, and Commerce, stated that “we continue to work to empower the wine industry, this type of awards which our producers receive at an international level encourages us to continue setting a tone that we’re on the right track,”
